Parents Speak Up, Your Kids are Listening

When it comes to making decisions about sex, parents have the greatest influence on their pre-teens and teens. That’s why it’s important to start talking with your kids early and often about healthy relationships and why waiting to have sex until marriage is a healthy choice.

This Hispanic Outreach Center (HOC) exists to share this message with Hispanic parents. Our website will help parents find tools to help them talk to their kids about sex and waiting until marriage. The HOC website contains information relevant to the Hispanic family that will help parents start the conversation with their child as well as links to information on health and social issues related to sexual activity.

Resources are divided into 6 categories: The Hispanic Family, Unique Challenges, Mixed Messages, Facing the Barriers, Positive Impact, and Relations and Support.

Additional information is available in English and Spanish in other areas of www.4parents.gov.
